How are these put on? What holds them up?

Are there Velcro closures?
While they do not have velcro, the company does have an option for them and can be orderd by phone at 850-907-5724

How often are they changed?
When used for fly protection, it is recommended to wash them every 2-3 days to keep the elastics ands yarn optimized for all four legs. Silver Whinnys Socks are made of an elastic material, allowing them to be slid on over the hoof and held up via friction, just like a sock that a person would wear. The only difference is that they are open on the bottom to allow the hoof to directly contact the ground. The sock is a solid tube and does not have Velcro closures. According to the product manufacturer, they should be changed daily to ensure that bacteria does not overwhelm the silver in the sock.
