We have contacted the manufacturer and they said that the socks can be pulled up over the knee and that they would recommend using an elastic material like vetrap to hold the sock up. They also said that the best way to apply the socks is to roll them up the leg and then pull them down over the hair so that you aren't pulling them up against the grain of the hair. Recommended usage time is 2 to 3 hours (while working).

- Cut HorseSox to desired length.
- Scrunch material (like putting on tights) and slip over hoof. HorseSox must fit snug to do their job.
- Place HorseSox in desired location and apply T-Boot or T-Sport Wrap.
- For heel coverage, extend HorseSox to hoof and secure with adhesive tape. Do not apply tape to horse's hair.
- After use carefully remove from horse's leg. HorseSox are reusable and machine washable on delicate cycle and low heat.
